What To Expect In Therapy With Me
(If you are a parent or caregiver, read this!)
Hi, I’m Arin!
Parenting can come with moments of joy, uncertainty, and everything in between. Whatever your child or family may be navigating, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to support your child, your family, and the unique journey you are on together.
My passion for working with children and families in mental health began in 2013 when I started working as a Mental Health Specialist on inpatient psychiatry units at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). This experience gave me a strong foundation in supporting children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. When I transitioned to a research position at Children’s, my passion for working with neurodivergent children and individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities grew. I also developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of listening to and incorporating the lived experiences of children and their families into the care they receive. After completing Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND), I began providing mental health counseling specifically for children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Now, I love working with children ages 5-12 whose brains work in lots of different ways!
I believe mental health is an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to a child’s overall well-being. Therapy with me is individualized and family- and child-centered. I want each child to feel seen, understood, accepted, and empowered to be themselves. We’ll explore emotions, build coping and emotional regulation skills, strengthen relationships, and work through the challenges that may be getting in the way of your child feeling their best.
Most importantly, I believe your child is the expert on their own experience. My role is to meet them where they are, build a trusting relationship, and help them discover their skills and strengths.
As a mom of three, I understand that reaching out for support can take courage. When it comes to the littles we love most, we want to do everything we can to help them thrive. Asking for help isn’t a sign that something is wrong—it’s a meaningful step toward giving your child and family the support they deserve. I’d love to connect, hear what you’re experiencing, and see how I can support you and your child best.
I’m glad you’re here, and I look forward to getting to know your family.

When I’m Not Counseling…
you’ll most likely find me with my kids—cooking dinner, changing diapers, and embracing all the beautiful chaos that comes with raising a family! I also spend some evenings at the dance studio, where I run an inclusive dance program that creates a space for children of all abilities to move, connect, and have fun.

Hi, I’m Arin!
Therapy is a special place that’s all about YOU It’s not the doctor’s office, and it’s not really like school, either. Here, we can play, talk, create, move, and explore while learning new ways to handle big feelings and tricky situations.
Sometimes we might use toys, games, art, stories, or other fun activities to practice skills that can help you feel calmer, more confident, and ready to handle whatever comes your way. You never have to have all the answers! We can figure things out together.
It’s totally okay to feel excited, nervous, curious, or even a little unsure about starting therapy. You can ask me questions, tell me how you feel, and let me know when you need a break. My job is to listen, help you feel safe, and be on your team. 🌟
Most importantly, you get to be YOU here! There are no perfect feelings and no perfect answers. We’ll learn, play, and grow together.
I can’t wait to meet you and see what makes you wonderfully YOU! 🦋✨
